The Buzz About Bees

June 27 @ 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm

What’s The Buzz About Bees? Learn more in this program at 11am and 3pm.

This program for young children is a fantastic way to introduce them to the fascinating world of bees! It’s essential for kids to learn about the importance of bees and how they contribute to our environment. Who knows, maybe some future beekeepers or environmentalists will be inspired by it!

Bees are incredible creatures that play a vital role in our ecosystem! They’re known for their buzzing sound as they fly from flower to flower, collecting nectar and pollen. Here are a few fascinating facts about bees:

  1. Pollination Powerhouses: Bees are essential pollinators. As they visit flowers to collect nectar, pollen sticks to their bodies and is transferred from flower to flower, allowing plants to produce fruits and seeds. Without bees, many plants wouldn’t be able to reproduce!
  2. Social Insects: Most bees live in colonies, with one queen bee, female worker bees, and male drones. They work together to build and maintain their hive, gather food, care for the young, and defend their home.
  3. Hive Hierarchy: Within the hive, each bee has a specific role. The queen’s primary job is to lay eggs, while worker bees collect food and care for the colony.
